1. Our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential s productive, caring, and responsible citizens.
2. We serve children ages 6-18. Our hours are 2-6 p.m. after school, and 6 a.m.-6 p.m. during the summer.
3. More than 900 children signed up for our 2008 Summer Camp.
4. It costs $54,750 to incarcerate a juvenile for a year in Rutherford County or $1,500 to send a child to our Boys & Girls Clubs for a year.
5. In 2008, the estimated population in North Rutherford County is 62,102. Of that population, 17, 646 are under the age of 18.
6. Currently, our Smyrna Unit is located in a rented space in a business complex and the Teen Program in Murfreesboro is confined to a small room.
7. We are constructing a new Boys & Girls Club facility in Smyrna, adding a teen center to Murfreesboro’s existing facility, and further developing our Endowment.
8. Our plan is to raise $4.6 million.
-New Boys & Girls Club in Smyrna $3,000,000
-Program Endowment $1,000,000
-Murfreesboro Teen Center $600,000
9. To become involved in our Boys & Girls Clubs call 890-2582 to reach the Murfreesboro Unit or 223-9400 to reach the Smyrna Unit.
10. With the completion of these new facilities thousands of children will have access to our Boys & Girls Clubs of Rutherford County.
