Dear Editor,
Please check your grammar. The distinction between their, there, and they're is such an easy rule to remember.

to BoltAction: how long have some folks around here wanted to be like Nashville? Looks like they got it!

to bluesky: Proofreaders used to be employed by the newspapers....guess that is another lost profession.

paragraph 1: It is the Middle Tennessee Medical CENTER, not the Middle Tennessee Medical CLINIC.
paragraph 4: There it says "shoot" and it should read "shot".
paragraph 7: Here it reads "a" and should read "and".

Is this what the new publisher is allowing to happen?

justdance: shotgun is a nickname an uncle gave me more than 50 years ago....long before i even knew what the weapon was. He nick named all of his nephews(4), and his sons(3). The only one that never recieved a nickname was his daughter( I don't know why).
But, shotgun is a nickname from an uncle that I respected. just so you know!

to all readers: I am sorry if this back and forth banter has distracted from the orignal story....but, Murfreesboro and Rutherford County have grown rapidly and bad things are one of the downsides of that growth....Our city and county leaders have to address the crime problems very soon or "out of hand" won't even come close to an accurate description!!!

By: justdance on 5/4/10

shotgun......appreciate the fact that you let me know you did not choose that name for your online identity.......

Murfreesboro isn't going through anything more than any other city that experiences the same tremendous growth we have. There is always going to be a good side and a bad side to that.

It's just going to call for even more positive effort, more patience and support from those of us who believe there is more good than bad in our town.
