Ten registered sex offenders living in Murfreesboro got a surprise inspection Thursday from Murfreesboro Police Department Criminal Investigators and the Crime Suppression Unit.

The officers verified registration information such as address, proximity to schools and made sure they were in compliance with any other requirements of their release conditions.

Three violations were discovered during the inspections. Those violations will be presented to the March term of the Rutherford County grand jury and/or criminal warrants taken out.

As required by state law, CID will conduct more verification checks of registered sex offenders in the coming weeks.
