Three suspects were charged with beating a man and forcing him inside a bathroom where they refused to let him out Jan. 3 at his home, a Murfreesboro Police detective reported.

Suspects Anna L. Boudreaux, Michael Moeller and Michael Todd Barnes were charged with especially aggravated burglary of victim Charles Colbert of East College Street, Detective Tommy Roberts reported.

Boudreaux was accused of waking Colbert up about midnight Jan. 3 and questioning him about missing money, the detective reported. Colbert told her he didn’t know what she was talking about and asked her several times to leave.

Moeller entered the room and asked about missing money while Colbert told them to leave.

“The situation escalated and Michael Moeller punched Mr. Colbert in the face,” Roberts reported. “The two continued to fight.”

Colbert got Moeller in a headlock, then Barnes allegedly hit Colbert, pushing his head into a door and wall, the detective reported. Boudreaux was accused of striking and kicking Colbert.

“The three were eventually able to get Mr. Colbert in his bathroom and would not let him out,” Roberts reported. “Mr. Colbert was kept there for a short period of time.”

The suspects fled the scene.

Roberts located Bordeaux, 25, of East Lytle Street, Moeller, 30, of North Spring Street and Barnes, 26, of East Lytle Street and charged the suspects after his investigation. They were booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center where a hearing was set Feb. 11 in General Sessions Court.ß
