Three men have been charged and arrested in the rape of a Siegel High School student.

Antonio D. Avent, 24, of Haven Drive, Cotey D. Nelson, 24, of Minerva Drive, and Farrunti D. Newman Jr., 24, of Eagle Street, were charged with the Jan. 3 rape of a 16-year-old girl.

The victim said she and two friends went to University Gables Apartments on Jan. 3, where she drank alcohol, took prescription drugs and smoked marijuana that the men allegedly provided to her in the apartment.

“The investigation has also shown that the victim became incapacitated from the ingestion of the alcohol and drugs,” Murfreesboro Police Sgt. Amy Dean reported.

While the victim was passed out the three men allegedly raped her.

After statements were taken from the suspects, the three were charged with rape and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. They are being held at the Rutherford County jail.
