Thomas Howard "Dootsie" Barrett, age 74 of the Leanna Community passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 after an extended illness. He was retired from the Leanna Convenience Center and a farmer.
Mr. Barrett was preceded in death by his parents, Edward A. Barrett, Sr. and Fannie Jane Hall Barrett; sister, Hattie Carsto; brother, Ray Barrett; brother-in-law, Jesse Roden and a great niece, Brandy Denton.
He is survived by brothers, Edward (Frances) Barrett and Wayne (Beverly) Barrett both of the Leanna Community and Kenneth (Jenne) Barrett of Murfreesboro; sister, Beulah Mae Roden of Leanna; nieces, Mary (Boyd) Agee, JoAnn (Phillip) Denton, Joyce (Randy) Bivins, Patsy (Daniel) Duff, Carrie Martin, Joanie Anderson and Jennett Carsto; nephews, Terry (Tonya) Roden, James Barrett, Bobby Barrett, Thomas Barrett, Ray Barrett, Jr., Michael Barrett, Kenneth Barrett and Joey Carsto. He is also survived by 16 great nieces and nephews ; and seven great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Leanna Church of Christ from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Kevin Dye officiating.
