|Thomas Henry Lewter, age 81, of Murfreesboro, passed away Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
Mr. Lewter was a native of Taft, Tenn. He was a member of Cash Point Baptist Church and attended First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Murfreesboro. He was retired veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a Combat Pilot in Vietnam and recipient of Bronze Congressional Medal of Honor with Valor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Jerrells Lewter and Edna Florence Jester Lewter. He is survived by his wife, Chelo Lewter; sons, George (Elaine) Lewter of Michigan, Thomas (Tracy) Lewter of Alabama and Chuck Lewter of California; 14 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Harry) Horne of Murfreesboro, Mary Ellen (David) Hatcher of Waverly, Verna Lewter Canto of Brentwood, Pamela Lewter of Taft; brothers, Bob (Doris) Lewter of Louisiana and Aaron Lewter of Murfreesboro; beloved pets, Lancelot and Gwenevere.
Visitation with the family will be Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, 9:00 a.m. until Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Rev. Perry Muse officiating. Graveside service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
