Thieves steal saxophone

Thieves stole a saxophone stolen from a musician during an ongoing rash of auto burglaries in Murfreesboro, a police officer reported.

Driver John R. Duke of Mulberry Court reported the saxophone was stored in his car after a performance in June, Officer Robert McAdams reported. He noticed it was stolen Friday.

It is unknown where the theft occurred. Value of the instrument was set at $5,900.

People who have information about the saxophone may call the Criminal Investigations Division at 893-2717 or Crime Stoppers at 893-STOP between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. A reward of up to $1,000 will be given for the arrest and prosecution of a suspect.
