Evans says to remove firearms from vehicles. Since I can't carry in parks my firearm must stay in my car. Let me get something straight. They are not safe in my locked car in front of my house, but they are safe in the greenway parking lots? Didn't I read a story recently that cars were broken into at the greenway also?

Thats right "bennychaff" what he means is to leave your firearm at home, because if their is no crime he might be out of a job. Permit holders should be allowed to keep their firearms on their person at all times.

you people are so ignorant it's not even funny. Where do you think a majority of firearms used in crimes come from?? If you leave a gun in your car and it gets broken into it will get stolen. If someone gets into your car, chances are your not going to know about it until the next day and that gives these low-lifes the chance to go through everything in your car. They will take your gun and use it in another violent crime. Most guns used in crimes are stolen guns!!! Plus, having a gun in your car is not going to do you any good when they decide to break into your home. I'm all for the 2nd amendment but there is also a great degree of common sense needed when it applies. You think with all the new exits on the interstate that the common sense bus would make a stop in Murfreesboro....guess i'm still waiting.

Common sense would dictate that you should not leave a firearm in your car overnight if it is parked in front of your house. However, the point that Bennychaff was trying to make is that if you legally carry a firearm as a concealed permit holder and you visit a park, ball game, or the greenway system you are required to disarm. Most people will disarm and leave their firearms and valuables in the car that they came in.

That's been my argument all along regarding the guns in restaurants bill. I think it is much safer for my gun to be in my possession rather than in my car in an unattended parking lot in downtown nashville.

But isn't it so funny That the law dont want you to carry your firearm on you at all times? It's almost like they want the crimes to take place,But then they beg us law abiding people for help to solve all these crimes.
Whos the real idiots here??? Like i said before They just want full control over everyone. If guns dont fear off criminals Then why does the law need to carry them. A double standard rule huh?

Do not forget tnlonestar that some of the very ones that are opposed to law abiding citizens carrying a firearm must be insecure, especially about children or their safety thereof. Where there are children and adults as well, there are people with a firearm. We have SRO officers in school, we have air marshalls, we have surviellance cameras and armed security at our convience stores, grocery stores, apartment complexes, surrounded neighborhoods, most government buildings. Yet we do not feel scared in our parks. Oh no, we can not have law abiding citizens carrying a weapon in those parks, especially where those children are.
