A restored $15,000 1928 Ford Model AA truck was stolen from the owner’s garage during the past six weeks on U.S. Highway 41 South (Manchester Highway), a sheriff’s corporal reported Tuesday.

Owner David D. Keith of Bermuda Drive in Christiana restored the antique truck with a red cab, flat bed, chrome headlights and a low rear rail, Cpl. Joe Duncan reported. It was kept at his garage on Manchester Highway. The truck was parked there when Keith checked it six weeks ago.

Because of the size of the truck, Keith believed a tow truck would be used to move the vehicle, Duncan reported.

Detective Todd Sparks is investigating.

In another case, Deputy Mike Hoekstra reported thieves stole a 2002 Honda ATV and its trailer Tuesday from owner William Joseph Taylor from his Ashwood Court home in north Rutherford County.

The ATV and trailer were parked in the driveway. A neighbor saw a black truck with an extended cab in the driveway during the day.

Detective Ralph Mayercik is investigating.

Deputy Joseph McCool reported burglars also stole more than $2,000 cash and other property Monday from Bradford C. Bugg of Valley View Drive in Lascassas.

Other items missing included a gun safe, two shotguns, two rifles, checkbooks, passports and two sets of golf clubs.

Detective Troy Hooker is investigating.
