‘Dracula’
The Center for the Arts will present “Dracula” at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 14-23 with 2 p.m. Sunday matinees.

Adapted from Bram Stoker’s famous novel, Dracula follows Professor Van Helsing and his brave comrades as they attempt to hunt down and destroy the downright evil Count Dracula.

Van Helsing and his men are simply no match for the exceedingly resourceful king of vampires. Dracula confounds and frustrates his adversaries with superhuman strength, psychic powers, and shape-changing abilities. Blood drenched danger lurks around every corner in this action packed retelling of Bram Stoker’s classic tale of horror.

The Center for the Arts is located at 110 W. College St., one block off the Square. For more information, visit boroarts.org, or call 615-904-2787.

Paranoia is contagious
Out Front on Main, Inc., presents Tracy Letts’ “BUG” at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays-Sundays, Oct. 13-31, with an additional show on Halloween night followed by a costume ball.

In “BUG,” an unhinged war veteran holes up with a lonely woman in a spooky Oklahoma motel room. The line between reality and delusion is blurred as they discover a bug infestation. This show contains drug use and strong language.

For reservations and information, contact Out Front on Main at 615-516-6279 or visit outfrontonmain.com.

Out Front on Main, Inc. is located at 1511 E. Main St. in historic downtown Murfreesboro. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students and seniors.

‘Legend of Sleepy Hollow’
MTSU’s department of theatre and dance is ready to scare the community with its 2011-12 season opener, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” set for Oct. 29-31 in the newly renovated Tucker Theatre.

The haunting tale of schoolmaster Ichabod Crane, based on Washington Irving’s short story, is directed by MTSU theatre and education professor Jette Halladay.

It’s designed for a younger audience and also will be touring local schools in addition to its 7:30 p.m. performances on campus.

Although pitched as a children’s show, organizers say “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” will be fun for adults as well during this Halloween season.

General admission tickets for “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” are $10 for adults and $5 for children and may be purchased online at mtsu.edu/tuckertheatre via the “Purchase Tickets” button on the left toolbar.

MTSU students will be admitted free with a valid student ID. Tickets also will be available at the door before each performance.
