The Murfreesboro Optimist League Sandlot Report is compiled weekly by the Murfreesboro Optimist Baseball League. Following is a recap of games played May 5-May 11.

MINORS (9-10 year-olds)

Mariners 8, Royals 7
The Mariners scored six runs in the final inning to come back and beat the Royals 8-7 in a key game atop the American Division standings. Gage Stephens had the big hit in the comeback inning. Cody Bryant and Stephens led the way for the Mariners. Sam Grant hit a home run, and Nathan Cardell, Josh Finks, Dalton Cantrell and Cole Traynor all had clutch hits for the Royals.

Cardinals 9, Twins 6
Cameron Sanders hit a home run and Kyle Dotson, Chase White and Henry Moseley each doubled to lead the Cardinals. Will Wheaton doubled and scored two runs and Stephen Micalizzi scored twice for the Twins.

Tigers 9, Rockies 7
Garrett Clark had two hits, including a double, and Jacob Reed and Austin Wright each had two hits to lead the Tigers. Guerron Marsh and Zach Constantinescu each had hits to lead the Rockies charge.

Yankees 7, Indians 6
Patrick Bassham homered, and Ryan Daniels, Matthew McDaniel, Landon Tracy and Steven Brandon all came up with clutch hits to key the Yankees’ one-run win. Nicholas Smythia scored the winning run.  Rider Gabhardt was 2-for-3 with a home run, Stephen Laird was 2-for-2, and Kyle George and Will Hoover added doubles for the Indians.

Braves 21, Pirates 9
Cole Gaither, Landon Fowler, Mastin Kirkham, Brayden Pike and Reese Phillips all had multi-hit games to lead the Braves over the Pirates. Tuck Sears hit a home run, Griffin Howard added a pair of doubles and Avery Head belted a two-bagger to lead the Pirates.

Tigers 14, Orioles 12
Garrett Clark had two hits, including a home run and triple, and Jacob Reed, Austin Wright and Michael Polly each had two hits to lead the Tigers. Connor Newberg was 2-for-2 with a double and three runs scored and Tyler Erdman scored three times to lead the Orioles.

Cubs 14, Rockies 7
Caleb Dickerson hit a two-run home run and Joseph Tucker doubled to lead the Cubs. Alex Shultz doubled, and Blake Shultz and Conner Miller each had key hits for the Rockies.

Indians 12, Twins 2
Stephen Laird and Rider Gabhardt each tripled and had two hits, and Kyle George, DiCarlos Riley, Carston Taylor and Will Hoover came up big for the winning Indians. Byran Hazen led the Twins.

Cubs 10, Reds 4
Jordan Christmon hit a home run, and Joseph Tucker, Josh Rampy, Caleb Dickerson, Ryan Leija, Spender Layne and Michael Leija had clutch hits for the Cubs. Ian Martin tripled for the Reds, who also had contributions from Patrick Moss, Daniel Stout and Tucker Morgan.

Royals 11, Tigers 8
Dalton Grant was 2-for-2 with a triple, Zach Mackin tripled, and Dalton Cantrell and Josh Finks each had key hits for the winning Royals. Jacob Reed, Austin Wright, Michel Polly and Jackson Riley led the Tigers.

Yankees 10, Red Sox 8
Matthew McDaniel homered and Nolan Melton, Landon Tracy and Karsten Evans each had two hits for the victorious Yankees. Carson Ray tripled for the Red Sox, who also had clutch hits from Evan Milligan, Heath Hubbard and Colby Freeman.

Royals 7, Dodgers 4
Nathan Cardell, Dalton Cantrell, Gray Pullias, and Dalton Grant came up clutch for the winning Royals. Landon Brasher and Tyrick Boone had big games for the Dodgers.

Cubs 19, Orioles 1
Jordan Christmon, Joseph Tucker, Josh Harrell, Cole Diamond, Caleb Dickerson, Ryan Leija and Michael Leija all reached base two or more times and scored to lead the Cubs. Tyler Erdman scord the Orioles’ lone run.
Astros 6, Braves 1
William Wilson had two hits, and Kyle Chandler, Austin Harvey, Graison Sweeney, Joseph Bonnano and Mason Price helped lead the Astros to victory. Martin Kirkham scored the Braves only run. The Braves also had hits from Aaron Cochrane and Brayden Pike.

Astros 20, Reds 5
Austin Harvey, Graison Sweeney, Jamie Marlin and William Wilson each had multi-hit games to lead the Astros. Perry Baird and Garrett Rashon led the Reds.  

Dodgers 10, Twins 8
Jaden Wiggins tripled and Chandler Wiggins doubled to key the Dodgers’ win. Drew Elliot reached and scored twice. The Twins were led by Benji Reed (2-for-2, triple), Riley Smith (triple) and Stephen Micalizzi (two runs scored).

Mariners 8, Astros 6
Kaleb Hallauer homered and Noah Johnson added a triple as the Mariners slipped past the Astros. Cody Bryant, John Myers and Andrew Arnold also had clutch hits for the Mariners. Kyle Chandler had a triple, and Graison Sweeney, Joseph Bannano, Mason Price and Tommy Apgar had clutch hits for the Astros.

Reds 18, Pirates 0
Jacob Burris hit a home run, Ian Martin went 3-for-3 with two doubles, and Daniel Stout (2-for-2, three runs scored) and Garrett Roshon (2-for-3) had two hits each for the Reds. Brandon Young, Tuck Sears and Griffin Howard led the Pirates.

Braves 8, Tigers 3
Landon Fowler was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored, Aaron Cochrane doubled and Darrian Spray reached twice to lead the Braves. Jacob Reed was 2-for-2 with a home run, and Austin Wright and Alex Carter added two runs each for the Tigers.

MAJORS (11-12 year-olds)

Braves 16, Royals 13
David Larson was 2-for-3 with a home run, double and three runs scored, and Daniel Bradford, Nick Goulsby, Dalton Frantz, and Andrew Muchow had multi-hit games for the Braves. Reese Brandon reached all four plate appearances for the Braves. Johnathon Smith, Brandon Abrams, J.D. Davenport, and Chase Scott all had multi-hit games for the Royals.

Yankees 6, White Sox 2
Kyle Melton was 2-for-3 with a double and a triple, and Jace Hawkins, Adam Dyke and Mitchell Workman delivered for the Yankees in a winning effort. Michael Whitten and Cameron Brandon had clutch hits and scored for the White Sox. Brandon’s hit was a triple.

Braves 7, Dodgers 5
Nick Goolsby was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, and David Larson, Dalton Frantz, Andrew Muchow keyed the Braves to a 7-5 win over the Dodgers. Branson Boone, Matthew Sells, Andrew Miller and Brandon Green led the Dodgers.

Mets 12, Diamondbacks 4
Tyler Vincent was 3-for-3, and DaRicco Riley, Travis Oden, Tyler Vincent, Ben Panak and Chris Johnson all had clutch performances to lead the Mets. Jacob Hurst doubled and Derrick Morse singled for the Diamondbacks.

Orioles 14, Royals 3
Drew Matthews was 3-for-3 with a home run and five RBI, and Austin Davenport was 3-for-3 with three runs scored to lead the Orioles, who also had key performances from Eric Hawks, Jarod Parker, Peyton Hayes and Peyton Young. Brandon Abrams and Caleb Smith led the Royals.

Giants 6, Red Sox 1
Ryan Medlock doubled and scored two runs, and Nick Wolf, Sanford Stone and Ryan Heath had key hits as the Giants turned back the Red Sox. Dillon Lynch led the Red Sox with a 2-for-3 effort.

Yankees 7, Red Sox 5
Michael Gray three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth lifted the Yankees to a come-from-behind win against the Red Sox. The Yankees also had strong performances from Dalton Tracy (2-for-3, triple, double), Adam Dyke (2-for-3, double) and Mitchell Workman. Barron Robinson had three hits and Taylor Wheat added two for the Red Sox.

Braves 10, Giants 5
Nick Goolsby, David Larson and Dalton Frantz all had multi-hit games to lead the Braves to their third-straight win. Cole Burgdorf had two hits for the Giants, who also had home runs from Casey Clementz and Preston Emore.

Royals 15, Diamondbacks 4
J.D. Davenport had three doubles, and Caleb Smith, Brandon Abrams each had multi-hit games for the Royals. Nicholas Morton and Carson Anderson had multi-hit games for the Dbacks.

Orioles 16, White Sox 9
Jarod Parker was 3-for-3 with a double, triple and three runs scored, and Eric Hawks, Austin Davenport, Peyton Hayes, Ethan Treutlein and Elijah Montgomery had game-winning contributions to key the Orioles win. Cameron Brandon, Michael Whitten, Tim Cooper, Braley Gentry, Austin Markos and Landon Reed led the White Sox.

JUNIORS (13-15 year-olds)

Dodgers 5, Royals 4
Kevin Groogan scored with two outs in the seventh inning as the Dodgers came from behind to nip the Royals. Drew Gossett and Jared Anderson had a triple and double, respectively, and Austin Loomis was 2-for-3 to lead the Dodgers. Noah Fisher had a double, and Hunter Taylor, Nick Paschall and Tank Sims paced the Royals attack.

Red Sox 16, Yankees 3
Weston Hayes was 2-for-3 and scored two run, Phillip Jones was 3-for-3 with three runs scored, Lane Corson was 2-for-3, Zach Hofbauer was 2-for-2 and reached base all four times and John Walden added a run-producing hit for the Red Sox. John Ralston, Ross Skipper and Grant Troutt led the Yankees.

Rangers 6, Cardinals 5
The Rangers scored five runs in the final inning to score a come-from-behind win against the Cardinals. Ethan Bugg had a clutch hit and Tyler Gattie, Damon Bisby and Nathaniel Hooper all reached and scored during the rally. Ryan Lefever tripled and Dalton Opial reached base all three times for the Cards.

Red Sox 9, Rangers 5
Weston Hayes was 2-for-2, and Austin Alexander also had two hits for the Red Sox, who received key hits from Zach Hofbauer, and Nick Zipay. Matt Stout and Ethan Bugg had two hits each for the Rangers.

Reds 12, Cardinals 2
Peyton Nightingale, had two hits, and Brandon Thompson, Nate Richardson and Dan Brackman had clutch performances for the winning Reds. Dylan Bargatze, C.J. Newby and Dalton Bargatze led the Cardinals.

Red Sox 23, Rangers 7
Weston Hayes had two hits and scored three runs, and Austin Alexander, Lane Corson, Zach Hofbauer, Marshall Cooper, Jonah Walden and Zach Gray all had clutch hits for the Red Sox. Matt Stout, Ethan Bugg and Zach Ayo keyed the Rangers.

Yankees 9, Cardinals 8
Patrick Cardell was 3-for-4 with two runs scored, Evan Williams was 2-for-3 and Adam Trigg and John Ralston homoered to lead the Yankees, who also got a double from Jake Pearcy. Dalton Opial was 2-for-3 with a double and a triple and Nathan Robinette had three extra-base hits to lead the Cardinals, who also had two hits from Marshall Opial.

Yankees 6, Reds 4
The Yankees scored five in the first and held off a furious Reds rally for the win. Patrick Cardell was 2-for-3 with a double, and Adam Trigg, Elijah Carlton, Evan Williams and Grant Trout all had key hits for the Yankees. Keegan Foge, Peyton Nightingale, Nate Richardson and Brennon Corbetta all had key hits for the Reds.

Royals 17,Rangers 0
Noah Fisher had two hits, including a triple, and Brycin Golden, Tank Sims, Hunter Taylor and Matt Manda all produced for the Royals. Josh Stout had a triple for the Rangers.

COACH-PITCH (7-8 year-olds)

Dodgers 21, Cardinals 15
Ty Wiggins, Max McMurry and Nathan Anderson scored three runs each, and Connor McWhorter, Drew Simpson, Kimball Pike and Kohl Nesbitt scored two runs each for the winning Dodgers. Tommy Nance scored three runs, Jack Jones, Austin Watson and Carson Shaw scored twice each for the Cardinals.

Phillies 9, Giants 4
Houston Harvill and Garrett Nelius scored two runs each to lead the Phillies to the victory. Trevon Sneed, David Pullias, Carter Stephens and Jacob Bobo led the Giants.

Red Sox 21, Tigers 11
Tripp Knitter was 4-for-4, Jacob Crabhill was 3-for-3 with a home run, Carlyle McAfee was 3-for-3 with a home run, Brooks McAfee homered and Luke McFarland added a triple as the Red Sox rolled to victory. J.D. Constantine hit two home runs, Ethan Baines was 3-for-3 and Shawn Wolford added two hits for the Tigers.

Diamondbacks 24, Dodgers 5
Bryce Eason was 3-for-3 with three singles, and Matthew Fleischman, Dalton Lynch, Denton Lynch, Addison Jones, Nate Smith and Levi Richardson all had two hits to power the Diamondbacks. Ty Wiggins, Conner McWhorter and Kimball Pike led the Dodgers.

White Sox 19, Yankees 3
Brady Hopkins, Justin Ritter, Logan Blanton and Brady Sengkhounmany and Ezra Montgomery led the White Sox to victory. Will Rowland, Maxwell Wynne, Everett Walker and Jackson Fusting led the Yankees.

Braves 23, Cardinals 13
Brayden Reed, Easton Ray, Ethan Stoecker, Kohlten Brown, Harrison Grant, Austin Sweeney, Brock Harvey and Scott Brown all had multi-hit games to power the Braves to victory. Wes Tidwell, Jack Jones, Carson Shaw, Austin Watson, Cash Thorpe, Tommy Nance and Noah Maddox all had multi-hit games for the Cardinals. Watson and Thorpe and Dominic Dalton each had a home run.

Cardinals 23, Phillies 4
Carson Shaw had four hits, including a home run, and scored three times, and Wes Tidwell was 4-for-4 with four runs scored to lead the Cardinals, who also had three-hit games from Cassius Thorpe, Noah Maddox, Dominic Dalton, Dakota McCurley and Tommy Nance. Brady Vaughn was 3-for-3 with a home run, Tyler Markos was 3-for-3 and Jack Harris was 3-for-3 for the Phillies.

Yankees 9, Tigers 7
Everett Walker, Colton Hillhouse, Nathan Okey, Jax Roddy, Garrett Kayser and Jackson Fusting led the Yankees with two hits each. One of Okey’s hits was a home run. Ethan Barnes and Russell Seigler were each 2-for-2 with a home run, and Brady Adams and John David Constantine added a double each to lead the Tigers.

Red Sox 13, Rays 11
Caleb Marks and Jacob Crabhill hit two home runs each, and Tripp Knitter, Carlyle McAfee, and Luke McFarland added three hits each to lead the Red Sox to a narrow win. Cameron Crutchfield was 4-for-4 with a home run and double and Will Young and Myles Rothlisberger went 4-for-4 to lead the Rays, who also had three hits from Anthony Kuenn and David Sanders.

Reds 14, Braves 10
Ethan Leeke was 3-for-3 with three home runs and Devarious Robinson was 3-for-3 with two home runs to lead the Reds, who also had three hits from Wyatt Cade. Kohlton Brown and Austin Sweeney each had a home run for the Braves, who also had multi-hit games by Brayden Reed, Easton Ray, Mark Cella, Drew Smith, and Scott Brown.

Orioles 12, Tigers 3
Sidney Watts scored three runs, Mason Thompson and Graham Keating scored two each as the Orioles rolled to a 12-3 win. John David Constantine reached all three times and scored twice for the Tigers.

Braves 11, Dodgers 10
Easton Ray scored three times and Brayden scored twice to lead the Braves to a narrow win. Ty Wiggins, Nathan Anderson and Connor McWorter scored two runs each for the Dodgers.

Phillies 22, Mariners 10
Houston Harvill, Brady Palmer, Tyler Markos and Brady Vaughn each scored three runs, and Jack Harris, Brock Rhoton, and Elias Maynor scored twice each to lead the Phillies. Sam Nave and Rashad Garrett scored two runs each for the Mariners.

Red Sox 19, White Sox 13
Eli McFarland scored three times, and Brooks McAfee, Caleb Marks, Jacob Crabill, Carlyle McAfee and Trip Knitter each scored twice to lead the Red Sox. Brady Sengkhounmany scored three runs, Braden Hopkins, Jack Lannom and Logan Blanton scored twice for the White Sox.

Red Sox 21, Yankees 7
Caleb Marks, Luke McFarland, Carlyle McAfee, Jack Brewer, Eli McFarland, Jordan McMahan and Ethan Ridgley all had multiple hits for the Red Sox. The Yankees were led by Garrett Chumley, Jax Roddy, Maxwell Wynne and Baylor Woods.

White Sox 14, Rays 11
Brady Senglehoummay was 3-for-3 with a home run and Braden Hopkins added a home run for the White Sox, who also had Ezra Montgomery belt two triples. KJ Lewis and Hayden Chambless had three hits each. Will Young, Camerson Crutchfield, Braden Jobe, Miceal Foglia, Sam McIntry and David Sands led the Rays. MP
