The Sandlot: May 29 | Sports,Little League, Optimist
The Murfreesboro Optimist League Sandlot Report is compiled weekly by the Murfreesboro Optimist Baseball League. Following is a recap of games played May 19-May 26.

MAJORS (11-12 year-olds)
Yankees 14, Red Sox 0
Jace Hawkins was dominant at the plate and on the mound as he led the Yankees past the Red Sox. Hawkins pitched a perfect game and hit two home runs out of the park to key the Yankees charge.

Orioles 6, Mets 5
Jarod Parker was 3-for-3 with a home run, triple and three RBI to lead the Orioles in a battle of division leaders. Eric Hawks was 1-for-2 with a home run and earned the win on the mound. Austin Davenport, who singled and scored, came on to strike out the final batter with runners on second and third to earn the save. Daricco Riley was 2-for-2 with a home run, double and two runs scored and Tyler Vincent belted a grand slam for the Mets.

Giants 4, Royals 3
Cole Burgdorf was 3-for-3 with a home run, triple and two runs scored, Nick Wolf, Sanford Stone and Wesley Nance added two hits each to lead the Giants to close win against the Royals. Caleb Smith was 2-for-2 with two doubles and Zach Dallas added two hits for the Royals.

Dodgers 8, Braves 0
Branson Boone was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored, and Matthew Sells and Jake Mitchell banged out doubles to lead the Dodgers. Andrew Muchaw had the Braves only hit.

Yankees 13, Red Sox 2
Dalton Tracy and Jace Hawkins had three hits each, Michael Gray homered and Adam Dyke tripled to power the Yankees past the Red Sox. Dillon Lynch had the Red Sox only hit.

Orioles 14, White Sox 1
Austin Davenport, Ethan Treutlein and Elijah Montgomery had two hits each for the Orioles. Treutlein hit his first home run, Davenport and Montgomery had triples. Tim Cooper and Jordan Logue had the only hits for the White Sox.

MINORS (9-10 year-olds)
Cubs 4, Astros 3
Josh Harrell hit a home run and Jordan Christman and Cole Diamond tripled to lead the Cubs to a dramatic 4-3 win against the Astros to clinch the National Division championship and a berth in the Minors Championship game. Mason Pace tripled and Austin Harvey doubled for the Astros.

Yankees 11, Twins 0
Landon Tracy threw a no-hitter, struck out 11 and hit two doubles to lead the Yankees in a dominating performance. Karsten Evans had two doubles, Ryan Daniels, Patrick Bassham, and Avery Watson had two hits each for the Yankees.

Cubs 13, Mariners 10
Jordan Christman and Josh Harrell hit home runs, Cole Diamond banged two doubles and Joseph Tucker struck out 11 batters as the Cubs won their 12th straight by dealing the Mariners their first loss. Kalob Halluer was 2-for-2 with a home run and Cody Bryant was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored for the Mariners.

Dodgers 11, Rockies 9
Landon Brasher and Chandler Wiggins each scored twice to pace the Dodgers. Max Tidwell and Brennon Marsh led the Rockies and scored twice each.

Royals 13, Pirates 5
Cole Traynor and Nathan Cardell hit home runs and Dalton Cantrell was 3-for-3 with a triple and two doubles to lead the Royals to a big win over the Pirates. Josh Finks, Sam Grant and Zach Mackin had two hits each for the Royals. Tuck Sears and Avery Head led the Pirates.

Red Sox 17, Rockies 1
Carson Key was 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBI, Colby Freeman hit a home run, and Eshan Patel was 3-for-4 with a triple to lead the Red Sox. Ero Milliyar and Nick Effler had two hits each for the Sox.  Alex Shultz was 2-for-2 with a double, Guerron Marsh had two hits and Ryan Green doubled for the Rockies.

Yankees 12, Cardinals 6
Kersten Evans, Landon Tracy and Matthew McDaniel had two hits each, and Nolan Melton doubled to lead the Yankees. Cameron Sanders, Eric Sanders and Matthew George led the Cardinals.

Indians 12, Reds 6
Will Hoover was 3-for-3 and DiCarlos Riley, Rider Gabhardt and Carston Taylor had two hits each to lead the Indians. Jacob Burris and Ian Martin had two hits each for the Reds.

Dodgers 8, Orioles 6
Javante Jones was 2-for-2 with a double and a home run, Jaden Wiggins was 2-for-2 with two doubles, and Landon Brasher added a double to lead the Dodgers. Hudson Tate had two hits, and Conner Newburg and Mitchell Holman had extra-base hits for the Orioles.

Twins 6, Braves 4
Mitchell Carmack had two hits, Nate Talley doubled, and Will Wheaton and Benji Reed had clutch hits for the Twins. Brayden Pike led the Braves.

Mariners 7, Indians 4
Kaleb Halluer had two hits and John Myers, Gage Stephens and Cody Bryant led the Mariners past the Indians. Stephen Laird was 2-for-3 with two triples and Will Hoover was 2-for-3 to lead the Indians.

JUNIORS (13-15 year-olds)
Dodgers 8, Cardinals 2
Austin Loomis was 3-for-4 with a double and Drew Gossett was 2-for-3 with a triple and a double to lead the Dodgers. Justin Morton and Benjamin Cates added extra-base hits for the Dodgers. Jordan Reviera led the Cardinals.

Red Sox 6, Royals 4
Zach Hofbauer doubled and drive in two runs and picked up the win on the mound as the Red Sox stayed alive in the American Division race. Tank Sims and Cainon Brandon doubled, Nick Paschall and Hunter Taylor singled for the Royals.

Reds 8, Yankees 1
Branden Thomson was 2-for-3 with a double, Christian Powers doubled and Keegan Foge tripled to lead the Reds.

Royals 5, Cardinals 4
Tank Sims scored three runs and Matt Manda helped lead the Royals past the Cardinals. Dalton Opial led the Cardinals.

Reds 11, Red Sox 10
Malek Holman, Nate Richardson, Brennan Corbetta and Keegan Foge all had clutch performances as the Reds slipped past the Red Sox. Zach Gray, Ezin Savinan and Weston Hayes led the Red Sox.

Cardinals 9, Royals 8
C.J. Newby was 2-for-2 with two runs scored, Dylan Bargatze, Dalton Opial, Gage Engle and Ryan LeFever had solid games to lead the Cardinals. Nick Paschall was 2-for-3 with a triple, Brycin Golden was 2-for-3 with a triple, Matt Manda was 2-for-2 and Noah Fisher doubled for the Royals.

Red Sox 19, Yankees 11
Zach Gray , Houston Hestlia and Parker White had two hits each and Zach Hofbauer and Austin Alexander scored three runs each to lead the Red Sox. MP
