Murfreesboro-based Two Women and a Mop cleaning service has been operating in the Middle Tennessee area for about a month and a half.

The company is quickly growing, said owner Misti Appleby.

Two Women and a Mop can handle residential and commercial cleaning including new houses and after party cleaning. Call Two Women and a Mop at 796-5790.

Appleby originally opened the business in 2001 in Charleston, S.C. She decided to sell the company and move to Murfreesboro when her parents decided to retire here in 2005.

“My dad always wanted to retire in Murfreesboro,” Appleby said. “He always loved it here.”

Even though her dad passed away, Appleby now shares the same love for Murfreesboro.

“Nothing can beat Murfreesboro now,” she said. “We are just so thankful to be here.”

Surprisingly, Appleby said there is a growing demand for her business.

“A lot of homeowners are used to doing it for themselves, but now they are working 60 to 70 hours a week” and don’t have the energy to come home and clean the house, she said.

As her way of giving back, Appleby said Two Women and a Mop is offering a free house cleaning in October to anyone who has survived or who is suffering from cancer.

“This is my way of trying to support them,” she said.
