A popular dining place in cities around Nashville is finally making its way to Murfreesboro.

Genghis Grill — The Mongolian Stir Fry is planning to open a location at The Avenue by late summer or early fall, according to The Avenue’s Marketing Manager Lindy Mullen.

The restaurant is a “build your own bowl, fast casual, Asian stir-fry concept,” according to its website at genghisgrill.com. “The atmosphere is colorful, lively and a lot of fun. It’s actually not a cuisine, but an interactive style of exhibition cooking modeled after a centuries-old legend. According to this legend, 12th century Mongol warriors, led by the mighty warrior Genghis Khan, heated their shields over open fires to grill food in the fields of battle.”

Genghis Grill has Middle Tennessee locations in Franklin and Hendersonville.

Linens & More For Less is slated to fill the large retail space left empty by Linens ‘N Things at The Avenue. The Brookfield, Ohio-based company — a similar concept to Linens ‘N Things — will sell home-décor products including bed, bath, kitchen and gifts.

The Murfreesboro location will be the first location in Tennessee and the company plans to open five additional locations in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Kentucky this year.

This store is set to open by late summer to early fall.

The company announced in May that it had chosen Brookfield as the headquarters to build a 50-plus chain of retail superstores.

Linens & More For Less will be a ‘’category killer’’ in retailing for the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen, said Fred Mershad, chief executive of the chain’s parent company, Linens and More LLC, in a report published by the Tribune Chronicle in Warren, Ohio.

The company’s flagship store in Mahoning Valley, Ohio will offer a sleep shop, including a wide variety of mattresses customized to individual sleeping habits, as well as a candle shop, a frame shop, a unique and color-driven gift department, a luggage department and a wall decor department, the CEO said.

It is unknown if other stores will have this concept.

Seasonal favorite Halloween Express will offer Halloween themed décor, props and costumes for all ages. The store will be open by early fall.

“The Avenue’s open-air, family-friendly atmosphere, coupled with our commitment to our tenants, makes it the ideal home for these retailers and businesses,” Mullen said. “We’re happy to be able to offer Murfreesboro families these new, convenient shopping and dining options
