There is now a too cute place to shop for kids’ toys, baby gifts and to have a birthday party.
2 Cute Kids opened recently in The Oaks Shopping Center on North Thompson Lane. The new store is just a few doors down from the original 2 Cute boutique at 544 N. Thompson Lane. Call 2 Cute Kids at 904-1961.
Coreen Holden King and her family decided to open the new store after having success in carrying children’s toys at 2 Cute during the Christmas season.
And, since Murfreesboro no longer has a locally owned toy store, they thought it was a void that needed to be filled.
Toys include games, dress-up clothes, outdoor toys, books, plush animals, art supplies and play kitchen and food items.
Customers can order baby gifts and have them delivered to the hospital for free. Gift-wrapping also is available.
“Right now we want to be a store where there is something for everyone,” King said. “We have things from 50 cents to $200. We have a great selection, and we are trying to expand to have something for everyone.
“We want customers to come in and leave with a wonderful present.”
Another big attraction at the store is birthday parties. 2 Cute Kids can play host to children’s birthday parties.
“We have had a lot of interest in that,” King said. “We have really great pricing and lots of options.
“It is definitely your birthday party headquarters.”

Textbook Brokers has opened a second Murfreesboro store to better serve area college students. The new store, which opened last week, is located at 225 N. Rutherford Blvd., Suite L next door to Roly Poly.
The first store is located at 1403 Greenland Drive.
“We kind of outgrew the location there so we added this one to help out with capacity,” owner Robert Batcheller said. “The parking lot is just not big enough and lines were forming and that was discouraging people.”
Batcheller said he decided to open a second location near Greek Row because it is a growing part of campus and many students live on that side of campus.
Additionally, the new store has more space and more parking for customers.
“We pride ourselves on two things: having more used books than anybody and getting people in and out quickly whether they are buying or selling,” Batcheller said.
Textbook Brokers does things a little bit differently than other campus bookstores. Employees pull books for students so customers can get in and out quicker. Also, the store will buy back any book that is still being used anywhere in the country.
Current hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The store will be open weekends and extended hours through the week during finals and the start of school.
Call the Rutherford Boulevard Textbook Brokers at 396-8044.
