Murfreesboro’s newest bowling alley is slated to have its grand opening in mid-October. The bowling alley, named Lanes, Trains and Automobiles, is located at 450 Butler Drive. The 50,000-square-foot facility is considered one of the largest family entertainment venues in the state, said Monty Bailey, of the bowling alley’s marketing agency, Fastrax Entertainment. In addition to 24 traditional bowling lanes, the facility will feature eight VIP lanes with plush furnishings and flat-screen televisions. Indoor bumpers and a state-of-the-art arcade are more family friendly amenities. The facility will be equipped with a full-service restaurant, named The Blue Caboose, which will be decked out in Blue Raider, Titans and Predators memorabilia and colors. A snack bar, called Coca Cola Café, and a 5,000-square-foot sports bar and billiard area, called Good Time Charlie’s are other attractions within the bowling alley. Lanes, Trains and Automobiles will have a soft opening late September or early October for the formation of bowling leagues. For more information, call 890-3999. When customers purchase a small through Route 44-sized fountain or frozen drink at Sonic they will receive a unique code used to “vote” for a teacher’s project online at LimeadesForLearning.com. Currently, there are approximately five Sonic teacher projects registered in Rutherford County. You can search for teacher’s projects by city, county or school at LimeadesforLearning.com. Teacher projects are used to help inspire learning in the classroom and range from computers needed for science labs to basketballs for gym class. Teachers’ projects receiving the most votes will be awarded grants throughout the month of September. Once a customer votes for a teacher’s project online, they can send notices to friends and track its progress to ensure it receives as many votes as possible for funding. An interactive map allows visitors to view the number of teacher projects and dollars donated in real-time nationally and by city or state.
