More beautiful clothes are coming to the Public Square courtesy of Trendy Pieces and Phase 2 owner Judy Goldie.
Goldie is planning to open a second store on the Public Square next door to Trendy Pieces, in the former location of Jamison Galleries of Fine Art.
Bella’s Boutique will offer similar fun, contemporary clothing featured in Trendy Pieces but for a slightly more mature woman.
Goldie said clothing lines carried at the new store will still be fun but, for example, dresses and shirtsleeves may have longer lengths.
The fashions will still be upbeat and trendy but have more to them for an older clientele, she said.
“I have moms of some customers that are looking for a little different style,” Goldie added.
Goldie said she is still finalizing the concept for the store. Construction in the store is slated to begin in the next month. Bella’s Boutique will open by the end of July or the first of August.
“We are definitely excited about it,” she said of the new store. “It just feels right.”
Goldie said she loves the Public Square and she wanted to keep retail in the former Jamison Galleries location.
Once Bella’s Boutique opens Goldie said she is sure it will continue to evolve over time just like Trendy Pieces has in the two years it has been open.
Goldie opened Phase 2 at 1218 N.W. Broad St. 22 years ago. That store is currently undergoing changes of its own.
Phase 2 has been downsized but still has some 5,000 square feet filled with new and like new clothes and accessories.

Beginning today, The Avenue Murfreesboro will hold Music in the Park on the last Sunday of each month through September from 2-5 p.m.
The kick-off event will feature Randy Moore and The Fabulous Suedes, and the entertainment line-up also includes: the Travis Mann Band on May 30, Roland Gresham Quartet on June 27, Root Road on July 25, The Wannabeatles on Aug. 29 and Awake! Awake! on Sept. 26.
Listeners are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs and relax in Central Park, and then enjoy shopping at any of the diverse retailers or dining at one of The Avenue’s restaurants.
During the April 25 kick-off concert, attendees are encouraged to bring a slightly used or new book to benefit Read To Succeed’s literacy initiatives. Volunteers from the organization will be at the event to promote the start of Spirit of Literacy Week, which includes special events at Avenue merchants, including Barnes & Noble, Newk’s Express Cafe and The Pottery Place. Fulin’s Asian Cuisine also will be on-hand with samples of its new signature dishes.
“The Music in the Park series will be a great opportunity for everyone to enjoy a dynamic mix of music and entertainment,” said Lindy Mullen, marketing manager for The Avenue Murfreesboro. “We hope attendees of our kick-off event will choose to bring a book to support Read To Succeed’s important mission of promoting literacy programs in our community.”
