The Murfreesboro campus of the University of Phoenix is now accepting students.

The state-of-the-art learning center is located across from Belk and above Toodles at The Avenue.

“It is going to be a small location to help serve that population that are currently students and give them a resource closer to home,” said Ryan Ball, Tennessee vice president for University of Phoenix, in a previous interview.

The 12,800-square-foot facility can accommodate up to 166 students at one time, with an additional capacity of 105 students for a possible phase two that is in development, according to the University of Phoenix.

Hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday 8 a.m.-5p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

The University of Phoenix is taking a “modern approach to learning, creating an environment with cutting-edge technology, design and innovation,” according to information from the school.

Eleven staff members work at the center to provide financial, academic and enrollment support.

The center provides on-demand tutoring, wireless Internet throughout, laptop bar with high-speed wireless Internet connection, three classrooms, 19 computer workstations, student resource center and seven 42-inch flatscreen televisions

University of Phoenix has more than 100-degree programs at the associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels in much-desired employment areas, from business and technology to health care and education.
