There’s good news for those who want designer duds at reduced prices.

A Tommy Hilfiger Clearance Store is now open in the former Dress Barn location near Target off Old Fort Parkway.

Hours of operation are 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sunday.

Bojangles is set to return to Murfreesboro when its location along South Church Street adjacent to the Indian Hills Golf Course opens around Nov. 9, said franchisee Roger Cathey.

Cathey, who moved from North Carolina to Murfreesboro to open Bojangles restaurants, originally hoped to have the restaurant open by early September. The opening has been delayed by rain.

A second location is planned for Memorial Boulevard in front of the Post Office. That restaurant likely won’t open until mid-2010.

The first Bojangles opened in 1977, now there are some 440 stores in the eastern U.S.

The core menu is the same now as it was then: distinctive, flavorful chicken served with fresh buttermilk biscuits, and one-of-a-kind sides like Dirty Rice or Cajun Pintos.

The light, buttery, made-from-scratch biscuits are also the basis for the restaurant’s breakfast. Biscuit sandwiches filled with items like spicy chicken filets, seasoned sausage or steak, country ham, eggs and cheese are served hot and fresh all day, every day. Sweet biscuits such as Cinnamon Biscuits and BoBerry Biscuits are all-day favorites.

And, for those who are still waiting for the opening of Gigi’s Cupcakes here is a little update.

Sisters Jan Zamudio and Julie Wyatt hope to have their shop filled with 40 flavors of artfully created cupcakes open by Nov. 5, but the opening could be delayed due to construction issues.

Gigi’s Cupcakes is located at 451 N. Thompson Lane, across the street from Jason’s Deli and near Samurai’s Cuisine.

New parents now have a new way to celebrate and show off their newborns to family and friends.

Parents who deliver their baby at Middle Tennessee Medical Center receive two-minute video birth announcements, highlighting a baby after his or her birth.

The recording of the video birth announcement is added to the parents’ schedule of events, which also includes the baby’s professional photo shoot, first birthday party and a free massage for the mother. The video announcements are provided by “Taylor” Made Productions, a local company owned by videographer Derek Grimes.

Filming for the video takes 15 minutes and is recorded in the patient’s room. Videos can include parents, siblings, grandparents and friends with the newborn. A secure Web page with the video’s link is e-mailed to the parents. Parents can send the link to the Web page to friends and family and control who sees the video.
