The Edge: Harmony Home moves to ‘Boro

A new furniture, home décor and gift shop is coming to Murfreesboro.

Amy Simcik is opening a second location of Harmony Home on Northwest Broad Street behind Demos’ Restaurant. She has operated a shop in Franklin for 10 years.

Harmony Home is slated to open in mid-April.

“I actually have a large clientele from the Murfreesboro/Smyrna area,” Simcik said of why she decided to open a Murfreesboro store. “Our customer base is growing out there.”

Her customers told her there is no store in Murfreesboro that sells the unique items her store does and at such low prices.

“When I started investigating, I realized that there was a need out there,” Simcik said.

Simcik said her store is known as a one-stop shop.

The Murfreesboro store will have a large garden section with garden accents and décor, baby and pet gifts and general gifts.

“We are really known for our lamps,” Simcik said.

The store also will carry artwork, several exclusive furniture lines and MTSU and Murfreesboro memorabilia.

For those of you already missing Anastasia’s Attic, there is some good news.

Cousins Ivelisse Martin and Meralis Torres Hood are opening a similar store, Anastasia’s Boutique, in the same location April 15. The store is located on the Public Square at 115 N. Maple St.

“We have both always liked the idea of owning our own boutique, when the opportunity came up, we knew we had to jump on it,” Hood said, of why they decided to open the store.

Hood said the store will offer something for everyone “regardless of their budget and style.

“Our guests should expect to come in and find items that are beautiful and affordable,” she said. “They should expect to find the perfect dress for their next event and a pair of jeans to hang out in.”

Hood said the store will carry “stylish, high quality apparel” and “unique and beautiful jewelry.”

Clothing lines include Isabel Lu, Cooper by Courtney, Fancy, MM Couture, Anlo-NYC, Alternative Apparel and Blank Denim. Premium denim lines being carried are Habitual and AG. Some of the jewelry lines to be sold at the store are by Gorjana, Diana Warner and Ada Accessories.
