Gigi’s Cupcakes is coming to Murfreesboro.
The cupcake store franchise, which features more than 40 flavors of artfully created cupcakes, got its start in Nashville.
Sisters Julie Wyatt and Jan Zamudio are preparing to open the Murfreesboro store.
According to blog postings, it looks like the cupcake franchise will open in early October at 451 N. Thompson Lane.
But Wyatt said an opening date has yet to be set, but assured that it would open sometime this year across the street from Jason’s Deli and near Samurai’s Cuisine.
Wyatt said she and her sister decided to open a Gigi’s Cupcakes in Murfreesboro to not compete with Nashville locations.
With The Avenue, the new MTMC and MTSU, she said they knew Murfreesboro would be a good location for the store.
Wyatt said Gigi’s Cupcakes are “awesome” as she spoke about the moistness of the cake and the taste of the frosting.
Gigi's Cupcakes currently offers flavors such as White Midnight Magic Chocolate Chip, Root Beer Float, Orange Dreamsicle, Key Lime, Cookies 'n' Cream (dark chocolate cake with Baileys chocolate butter cream frosting topped with Oreo crumbles and a tiny Oreo cookie.), Ginger Bread, Caramel Sugar Mama (Caramel cake topped with caramel buttercream and drizzled with caramel and Sugar Babies).

Golf, Etc. is moving from its current location on South Church Street near Kroger to Medical Center Parkway, said assistant manager Rob Miller.
“We will try our best to be reopened by Sept. 21 in our new location,” he said.
The new location is in the same shopping center as Salsarita’s and Otter’s Chicken Tenders, near the intersection with North Thompson Lane.
Miller said Golf, Etc. is making the move to have a more centralized location and more foot traffic at the store.
“It is just going to be much more accessible to the downtown shopping area of Murfreesboro,” he said.
Golf, Etc. has been in its current location for five years. The store sells golf accessories and apparel for adults and children. Golf, Etc. repairs golf clubs and custom fits clubs.
The store is expected to close Sept. 11 or Sept. 12 to prepare for the move.
