Tennessee Guard to host Army Covenant Ceremony

Major General Gus L. Hargett, Jr., Tennessee's Adjutant General today announced that the Tennessee National Guard will host a U.S. Army Community Covenant Signing Ceremony on Monday, September 28th at 10:00 a.m.

The ceremony will be held at the Tennessee National Guard Headquarters Assembly Hall, 3041 Sidco Dr., Nashville.

The Community Covenant program is an Army initiative designed to foster and sustain an effective partnership between the Army National Guard and the state and community. It is designed to improve the quality of life for our Soldiers and their families both here at home and abroad.

It is a formal commitment of support by our state and local communities to the Soldiers and Families of the Army, the Army National Guard and the Army Reserve.

Scheduled to attend are Governor Phil Bredesen; the Honorable Thomas R. Lamont, Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs; Congressman Jim Cooper; Major General Hargett; Retired Brigadier General and Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army, Judge Robert Echols; Murfreesboro Mayor Tommy Bragg; State Senator Bill Ketron; and State Representative Stratton Bone.
