First, I would like to applaud all veterans for their service to our country. I believe it is important to recognize those who have fought and devoted themselves to protect and serve.
Now, that the Tennessee General Assembly authorizes the state to issue a specially designated identification card, honorably discharged veterans are immediately recognized. I think specifically referring to elderly retired veterans it is a commemorative subject.
The Central Issuance is set to be convenient for all veterans in the state of Tennessee allowing, them to go wherever they choose to collect their identification card. It also, allows the convenience of not having to carry around their discharge papers, which can become a pain. Everyone carries their id when they set foot outside it is easier to prove you are a discharged veteran when it is printed on your driver license.
I have been told a simple thank you for your service is more than enough in return for their duty. However, being identified by wearing a hat or some form of tribute does not amount to the effort they put in. In fact, without that tribute no one knows the contribution they actually made to this country. Everyone should acknowledge their strengths. I am grateful for all veterans and I think it is a great honor that the state and others will recognize them for their duty to the country.
