Two teens dressed in black took the church pulpit and yelled church members were “going to hell” during Sunday services, Murfreesboro Police reported Tuesday.

The teens interrupted services at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints on East Clark Boulevard by forcing their way to the pulpit, Officer James Thomas reported.

“They then started yelling at the church members stating that the church members were going to go to hell,” Thomas reported. “Members of the church then confronted the subjects and told them to leave or they were going to call the police.”

Church members escorted them out of the building and feared they might be armed and harm the congregation.

They were described as two white males. Police will be watching the church for the suspects.
