TDOT announces road projects

Rutherford County road projects scheduled June 10-17 by the Tennessee Department of Transportation include:


I-24 from SR 249 to SR 45 Resurfacing (Lojac)
• Monday June 15 through Wednesday June 17, 8PM-5AM, There will be alternating lane closures on I-24 eastbound and westbound in order to fog seal the shoulders, place shoulder stone, and stripe the roadway. One lane will remain open.

Resurfacing and Ramp Repair on I-24 (Lojac)
• Monday June 15 through Wednesday June 17, 8PM-6AM each night, I-24 alternating lane closures in both EB and WB directions, to pave the roadway between the Davidson County line and east of Almaville Rd. One lane will remain open.

Ramp widening on I-24 eastbound at SR 96 (CBM Enterprises)
• Monday June 15, 8AM-4PM, There will be lane closures on the off ramp at exit 78A in order to shift traffic onto the new ramp. There will also be temporary lane closures on SR 96 for striping.

Random Concrete Pavement Repair (Kelcris Corporation)
• Thursday June 11 through Wednesday June 17, 8AM-8PM, Traffic will be shifted on the ramps at the intersection of Lee Victory Pkwy. and Murfreesboro Rd. and at the intersection of Sam Ridley Pkwy. and US 41/US 70 in order to perform concrete repairs.

Other mid-state projects include:

Bridge Repair on 3 Bridges on Briley Pkwy. between I-24 & Curry Rd. (Jamison Construction)
• Now through July 2009, There will be lane closures on Briley Parkway eastbound and westbound from LM 3.48 to LM 3.63 for bridge repair. One lane will remain open in each direction.

Region 3 On-Call Guardrail (Classic City Utility)
• Thursday June 11 through Wednesday June 17, 8PM-6AM, (each night), There will be one lane closures at various locations on interstates and state routes in Davidson, Robertson, Montgomery, and Williamson Counties for guardrail repair and installation.
• Thursday June 11 through Wednesday June 17, 9AM-4PM, There will be various shoulder closures in Middle Tennessee on state routes for guardrail repair and installation.

Resurfacing and Bridge Repair on Briley Pkwy from SR 12 to I-40 (Rogers Group)
• Wednesday June 10 and Monday June 15 through Wednesday June 17, 8PM-6AM, (each night), There will be alternating lane closures on Briley Pkwy. northbound and southbound in order to pave. One lane will remain open in each direction.

Phase III of ITS (Trans Tech Electric)
• Wednesday June 10 through Wednesday June 17, 9AM-3PM and 7PM-6AM. There will be periodic day and night time shoulder closures at various locations within the areas listed below in order to place conduit, install pull boxes, perform soil samples, and perform surveys for device staking.
* Briley Pkwy, both directions, between I-40 and Centennial Blvd (MM 6 to MM 27)
* I-24, both directions, between Old Hickory Blvd and Bell Rd (MM 40 to MM 61)
* I-40, both directions, between US 70 and Old Hickory Blvd (MM 196 to MM 222)
* I-65, both directions, between Concord Rd and Long Hollow Pkwy (MM 70 to MM 97)
* I-440, both directions, between Hillsboro Pike and I-24 (MM 3 to MM 7)
* Ellington Pkwy, both directions, between Briley Pkwy and Spring St

• Wednesday June 10 through Wednesday June 17, 8PM-5AM, There will be periodic short term night time lane closures at the following locations to install structure conduit, device foundation installation, DMS foundation installation, and cross bores.
* Briley Pkwy, both directions, between Elm Hill Pike and Brick Church Pike, (MM 7 to MM 27), 3 lanes remain open (multiple locations).
* I-40, both directions, 1 mile west of Old Hickory Blvd, (MM 197 to MM 198) 2 lanes to remain open.
* I-40, both directions, 1 mile west of White Bridge Pike/Robertson Ave, (MM 201 to MM 202) 2 lanes to remain open.
* I-40, both directions, between Briley Pkwy and Old Hickory Blvd (MM 215 to MM 222), 3 lanes remain open (multiple locations).
* I-65, both directions, between Armory and I-40, (MM 79 to MM 82), 3 lanes remain open.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution and obey reduced speed limits in all TDOT work zones, regardless of lane closure activity.
