The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating the death of a Murfreesboro Police Department officer.

Officer Brittany Maxwell was found dead in her residence today. 

"At the request of Chief of Police Glenn Chrisman, Rutherford County District Attorney Bill Whitesell requested the TBI conduct a routine death investigation," MPD spokesman Kyle Evans said.
