Taste of Stones River T-shirt design contest announced

Local artists will have the opportunity to create original artwork for the 3rd annual Taste of Stones River official T-shirt design contest.

Taste of Stones River benefits the Primary Hope & Care Clinic. The event will feature sample items from more than 40 of the area’s finest restaurants and will take place Aug. 22 at The Avenue Murfreesboro.

Live entertainment will feature performances by various local groups. For more information, visit www.tasteofstonesriver.org.

The committee for Taste of Stones River is anticipating a variety of creative entries and has identified the following age groups and prize levels:

- Ages 8 and under have a chance to win $25,
- Ages 9-13 can win $50 and
- Ages 14 and up have a chance to win $100.

All age groups are eligible to have their design featured on the T-shirt.

Judging will be based on originality and creativity, and judges are looking for a design that captures the spirit of the event and incorporates a food theme.

Last year’s winner was Amanda Beckett, then 19. Her original design was featured on the event T-shirts.

Art submissions can be sent in any format to tasteofstonesriver@comcast.net or Taste of Stones River Artwork, ATTN: Stacy Dornisch, 1784 West Northfield Blvd, #300, Murfreesboro, TN 37129.

Submissions will be accepted through Friday, May 15.

All winners will receive special recognition at the Taste of Stones River event, which will be held from 4-8 p.m.

The event’s presenting sponsors include Publix Supermarkets, Coca-Cola Bottling Company and The Avenue Murfreesboro.
