Suspect sought in Kroger pharmacy heist

TMP Reports

One man robbed the Kroger pharmacist of $2,300 worth of the drug, OxyContin, and walked out about 7:20 p.m. Tuesday from the West Northfield Boulevard store, Murfreesboro Police reported.

The suspect approached the pharmacy and asked for the pharmacist, Officer Justin Lemanski reported.

“The suspect then advised her to get all the OxyContin she had and then advised the witnesses (pharmacy techs) to not move,” Lemanski reported. “The suspect never displayed a weapon or advised that he had a weapon when demanding the pills.”

Once obtaining 516 tablets, the suspect drove away in a green vehicle.

Witnesses described him as a white man wearing a light blue polo shirt, baseball cap and mirrored sunglasses. He wore a large mustache.

Anyone with information regarding this case should call the Murfreesboro Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at 893-2717. Detective Mike Taylor is the lead investigating detective.

In a third case, Detective Richard Presley charged suspect Chris Devon Keil, 22, of 1426 E. Main St. with robbery of a pizza deliverer Sunday on New Lascassas Highway.

Officer Tim Jensen stopped the suspect who matched the description of the robbery suspect a few minutes later, Presley reported.

“When Officer Jensen made contact, the subject tossed a gun and a white T-shirt to the side,” Presley reported. “The subject identified as Chris Keil uttered, ‘It’s me,’” adding he knew he made a mistake.

The victim identified Keil as the robbery suspect.

During an interview with Presley, Keil said, “I had a bad day and decided to get some money so I called for a pizza so I could rob him.”

Presley charged Keil and booked him into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. A hearing is scheduled July 20 in General Sessions Court.
