Smyrna Police identified a man suspected of committing multiple business burglaries last week in Smyrna, the police spokesman reported.
Suspect Donald Conway has a history of committing vandalisms within Smyrna in the past, Sgt. Bobby Gibson reported.
“There two active arrest warrants of file for Mr. Conway in regards to other vandalisms and he is our prime suspect in our vandalisms regarding yesterday’s report,” Gibson reported.
Detective Angela Istvanditsch reported she began in February investigating someone throwing trash and dry wall screws all over the roadway on Florence Road.
Conway was charged with aggravated criminal littering and vandalism after “it was determined Mr. Conway was the one responsible for this. He was attempting to harass his ex-wife who lives on Rebel Road, which is connected to Florence Road,” the detective reported.
He pleaded guilty to several counts of aggravated criminal littering and vandalism. He was placed on probation and paid back several hundred dollars in restitution. He is still on unsupervised probation.
About three weeks ago, someone began throwing trash and screws in the same area as before, she reported.
An unknown suspect threw several pieces of computer paper Sept. 18 and Sept. 30 in and around the Smyrna Justice Center and Police Department. The paper referenced Conway's ex-wife's family, the detective reported. He was identified on video surveillance and currently has two active warrants for his arrest. All attempts to locate Conway have met with negative results.
