Multiple charges were filed against a suspect accused of robbing a man at gunpoint and firing six rounds about 8 p.m. Saturday on Brown Drive off Greenland Drive, Murfreesboro Police reported.
Suspect Danny Holmes, 19, of 609 Bridge Ave. was charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment, Officer Palmer Gibbs reported.
Victim Omar Garcia of La Vergne was in his car on Brown Drive when the robber approached him, brandished a handgun and said, “come on with your wallet, your jewelry,” Officer Adam Boisseau reported.
The robber patted Garcia’s pockets and asked for his wallet, then demanded Garcia get out of the car, the officer reported. The robber threatened to kill Garcia if he found a wallet.
When he got out of the car, Garcia ran and the robber pointed his handgun at him, Boisseau reported. Garcia asked for help from four men.
“The suspect ran to his vehicle and shot off approximately six shots as he drove away,” Boisseau reported.
Police found six shell casings at the scene.
Gibbs reported he was patrolling on Crossway Avenue when he spotted the suspect vehicle and located Holmes.
“The victim of the armed robbery identified Mr. Holmes as the suspect,” Gibbs reported.
While searching Holmes for his arrest, Gibbs located a small amount of marijuana in his pocket. Gibbs charged Holmes with possession of marijuana.
Holmes was booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center where a hearing was set May 13 in General Sessions Court.
