A man was indicted on a charge of sexual exploitation of a minor after evidence was presented to the Rutherford County grand jury.

Suspect Jamie A. Taylor, 19, of Minerva Drive in Murfreesboro was indicted after Murfreesboro Detective Jennifer West presented evidence before a grand jury about Taylor allegedly looking at pornography online. He was also charged with possessing drug paraphernalia.

Detectives searched his home after obtaining a search warrant last Thursday.

Taylor received a copy of his indictment Monday in Circuit Court. Another court date is pending.

In an unrelated arrest, Officer Michael Levy stopped driver Kenneth JaWayne Phillips, 26, of Rachel Court for driving without a seat belt.

After Phillips gave Levy permission to search his car, the officer reported he found a small amount of counterfeit crack cocaine inside.

“Phillips stated he and his friend, Ashley, manufactured fake crack cocaine to sell,” Levy reported.

Levy charged Phillips with possessing counterfeit controlled substance. A hearing is set Feb. 2 in General Sessions Court.
