The 24-year-old suspect who fired shots at county and city law enforcement officers Saturday afternoon before being shot was today released from the hospital and now faces several murder and kidnapping charges.
Dewjaun Antonio Henderson, 4857 Cedar Grove Rd. in Murfreesboro, was released from Vanderbilt University Medical Center this afternoon and booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
RCSO Detective Steve Kohler obtained and served warrants for three counts of attempted first-degree murder and four counts of aggravated kidnapping.
Henderson is being held in lieu of $250,000 bond awaiting a premilinary hearing on Aug. 23 in General Sessions Court. Should he be unable to make bond, a preliminary hearing will be held within 10 days.
The murder charges stem from Henderson firing a number of shots from a handgun at RCSO Corporal Travis Robinson and MPD K9 Officers Trey Manley and Ryan Holobaugh. All three and MPD Sgt. Cary Gensemer fired rounds at Henderson.
The kidnapping charges stem from the four people who were in the cab of the pickup truck in which Henderson was riding in the vehicle’s bed when the incident occurred.
The parallel investigation of the officers’ action is still under way by TBI.
