Felony reckless endangerment and public intoxication charges were filed against a man accused of firing into a Grove apartment last Wednesday on Journey Drive, Murfreesboro Police reported.

Suspect Angelo Demetrius Leach, 22, of Atlas Street, was charged with shooting into Jessica Nagel’s apartment Nov. 18, Officer Chris Pitts reported. A bullet hole was found in her ceiling and a spent bullet was found on the floor.

While following up on the shooting, Pitts talked to Leach.

Leach told Pitts he was holding his cousin’s handgun, trying to clear a jam, when it discharged into the floor.

Pitts charged him and booked him into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. A hearing on the charges is pending in General Sessions Court.

In an unrelated case, Officer Adam Pewitt reported someone ignited three plastic bottles outside Jack R. Stevens Jr.’s home on Morris Close about 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

“He heard three large explosions outside his residence,” Pewitt reported of Stevens.

When Stevens rushed outside, he didn’t see anyone. He found two two-liter bottles in his yard and one in the front of his house. A witness provided the names of two suspects.

These weren't alka seltzer bombs were they, heaven forbid...

Replying to Farmall:

That's a possibility. But these could have also been the kind of homemade bombs that involve bleach, ammonia and tinfoil, among several other household items. Those kind have the potential to be lethal if misused.
