Storage units damaged by fire

Ten storage units were damaged at Security Self Storage, located at 405 W. Northfield Blvd., after a fire ignited in one of the units at approximately 2 p.m. Saturday.

Five Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department units responded on the initial call. Upon arrival, heavy smoke and flames were showing. Personnel immediately began an interior attack. The fire quickly spread to 10 units in the building.

Two additional MFRD units arrived on scene. The fire was knocked out. No one was injured during this incident.

Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department Fire Marshal’s Office was called to conduct a routine investigation. No further statements will be made at this time.
