Stones River offers new Junior Ranger program

Beginning Sept. 26, Stones River National Battlefield will offer a new Junior Ranger Program.

Children ages 6 and up are invited to visit the battlefield, complete the activities at their own pace and become
Junior Rangers. The program is free and available for all every day the park is open.

The new program has a variety of activities for kids who wish to learn more about Stones River National Battlefield and national parks. The program activities vary in difficulty and include puzzles, mazes, and quizzes. After completion, participants will earn a Junior Ranger badge or patch, and a certificate.

During September,  Stones River National Battlefield is celebrating the national parks through daily programs, exhibits, and a day of service and celebration on Sept. 26 to continue cleanup from the Good Friday tornado. As part of the festivities, the park will offer a sneak preview of Ken Burns’s new documentary The National Parks: America’s Best Idea premiering on PBS Sept. 27.
