There was excitement in the air as StoneCrest Medical Center employees gathered around a table full of baskets.

Each department in the hospital chipped in to create a basket to be auctioned off to raise money for The Now More Than Ever campaign with money earmarked for the Smyrna Boys & Girls Building Fund.

“Half the people were watching their bid while the other half were checking to see how much money their department’s basket was making,” stated Linda Gibbs, Revenue Integrity Director for StoneCrest Medical Center.

In honor of Hospital Week, the Employee Advisory Group (EAG) decided to hold a silent auction to raise money for the Boys & Girls Club.

“We could not believe all the excitement from the employees, patients, families and physicians over these baskets,” stated Terry Peay EKG Technician and EAG president. “Our departments really pulled together and did a tremendous job.”

Baskets ranged from movie nights, baby baskets, and a photography themed basket with a digital camera, all the way to a spa day. When the auction closed and the totals added up, the fundraiser brought in $3,000.

“I am so impressed with the level of commitment that our employees have to their jobs and to our community. The staff here at StoneCrest are always coming up with new ways to raise funds to help others,” stated Mark Sims, CEO at StoneCrest Medical Center. “I am proud that this money is going to help the Smyrna Boys & Girls Club get one step closer to their new building.”
