'Still time to vote early'

If you haven’t voted early yet, there's still a chance to make it to the polls before it ends Saturday.

There are still plenty of voters out there who haven’t cast a ballot yet. Only 2,688 of registered voters – 1,349 Democrats, 1,263 Republicans and 76 voting only in the county general election – have taken advantage of early voting so far.

“Voting today has been steady, but not rushed,” said Hooper Penuel, Rutherford County elections administrator.

The election commission has even made voting early more convenient by extending its hours for the last three days of voting to help accommodate those who still want to vote. Early ballots can be cast from 10 a.m.- 8 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and from 7 a.m.-noon Saturday.

Early voting locations are the Rutherford County Election Commission offices on Vine Street and the Public Square, SportsCom, Tennessee Rehabilitation Center or Rutherford County Agriculture Center in Old Fort Park.

Voters should contact the Rutherford County Election Commission with questions or concerns about the Election process by visiting its Web site at www.rutherfordcountytn.gov/election or by calling 615-898-7743.
