Sterling Brown Dunaway, age 94, passed away May 18, 2017 at St Thomas Midtown.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Lascassas and a member of Lascassas Baptist Church. Sterling served in the United States Army during World War II and was a Home Builder.

Sterling was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Wiseman and Della Prichard Dunaway; wife, Edna Rhea Dunaway; brothers, Clifford and Coy Dunaway; and sister, Dale Butler.

He is survived by his sons, Sterling Ray Dunaway, Stephen (Regina) Dunaway, Sheldon (Yvonne) Dunaway, Sandy (Jackie) Dunaway; and daughter, Sherry (Steve) Davis; sister, Lera Nolan; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren..

Visitation with the family will be 4 to 8 p.m, Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home.

Chapel service will be 11 a.m, Monday, May 22, 2017 at Jennings and Ayers with Dr. Kenneth Summy. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
