I have heard reports that this strain is a cross between Swine/Avian/Human. Seems strange that it spread so quickly.

I hope the local schools are prepared to deal with this; shut-downs may be a good option, or atleast allow the parents to pull kids out without reprimand. So many children come to school sick already, pre-swine flu. It seems like not an "if" but "when" someone will get it. I bet the true numbers of infected people are way higher than the CDC is reporting. Scary...

WOW - the Post has a scoop, a case of H1N1 here in the Boro. The CDC reports this flu in 10 States - Tennessee not mentioned. Someone needs to call the CDC. If the local physician is withholding that information that's pretty serious.

We checked with RuCo Health Dept, State Health Department and CDC. No reports of swine flu in Rutherford County or Tennessee as of yet. What you say is true Wil2hike.

Mike - well done, thanks for checking - everyone is nervous enough about this thing

Yes, Mike thanks for checking on this with the Rutherford County Health Department, State Health Department and CDC. This is good to news. Our friends doctor should not have told him he had or possibly had the Swine Flu unless he was sure. However, the doctor could have been trying to play it safe just in case it really was the Swine Flu.

Swine flu? I prefer to call it the less cool side of evolution and survival of the fittest.

BEWARE - If you pass gas and it smells like bacon you need to see a doctor!
