Whitworth Buchanan Middle School’s second annual STAR camp will be held July 23-27 for rising sixth-eighth graders from any school or county in the state.

There will be five days filled with singing, music, rhythm and stage training from several prominent guest clinicians, Amy Fausnaught and Vera Warrick.

Participants will express themselves through performance and learn how to connect with their audience and capture the spotlight.

Registration starts at 8 a.m. Monday, July 23, $125. The days will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Fausnaught, “Miss Amy” grew up on the stage and loves sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with rising performers. Whether it is directing the church choir, choreographing a dance, or sewing costumes, Miss Amy loves it all, especially encouraging young artists to shine.

Warrick was educated at Belmont University and Tennessee state University in the field of Music Education. She has been teaching private voice lesson, music camps, and directing choirs for over 20 years. She has sent some students to succeed in prestigious ambitions: one to the top three of American Idol contest, the Miss America Pageant, and other highly competitive events. She is looking forward to teaching with us for a second year.
