Dr. Eric Klumpe will discuss “400 Years after Galileo: How Our View of the Universe Changed” during the Friday, Nov. 6, Star Party that will be held in Wiser-Patten Science Hall Room 102. The event will start at 6:30 p.m.

“I will define our ‘view’ as both a physical view (sizes and scales of the universe) and a philosophical view (Earth-centered, sun-centered, man-centered, etc.,” Klumpe, an associate professor in the physics and astronomy department, said. “I will then map out how science has progressed in both the physical and philosophical views in the last 400 years.”

After Klumpe’s talk and, weather permitting, Star Party attendees will go outside for a telescope viewing.
