St. Rose earns second place at Science Olympiad | St. Rose, MTSU
The St. Rose Science Olympiad team earned second place overall at the Science Olympiad Regional Tournament at MTSU.

Twenty-six 7th and 8th grade students competed all day in events such as Disease Detectives, Ornithology, Science Crime Busters and Battery Buggy. Medals were given for the top 5 places out of 10 teams competing.

This year’s competition was the largest regional competition and included Montgomery Bell Academy, Stewart’s Creek Middle School, and Blackman Middle School.

The St. Rose team earned medals in 21 of the 23 events and took home 9 first-place medals. Because of their hard work and dedication, the 8th Grade St. Rose team will be representing their school at the Science Olympiad State Tournament at UT-Knoxville on March 27.

The 8th Grade St. Rose Science Olympiad team members are: Daniel Brackman, Abbey Burgdorf, Chandler Carney, Roxanna Flores, John Groogan, Barbra Guerra, Breanna Hadrian, Natalie Jackson, Keenan Kayser, Jacob Miller, Nicolas Montealegre, Thomas Reyes, Samantha Schachtner, Melina Therrien and Rachael Vehr.

The 7th Grade St. Rose team members are: Anzlee Adams, Anthony Akers, Danielle Apgar, Trent Dillihay, Madeline d’Oliveira, Patricia Fonseca, Shannon King, Justin Siler, Emery Steffner, Ben Weisel, and Donnelly Wolf.

Their coaches are Tony Farone, Mary Farone, and Lori Klukowski.
