School Resource Officers will wait tables to raise funds for Special Olympics during the annual Cops and Lobsters dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Red Lobster.
Special Olympics allows mentally challenged students to participate in field and track events at the 2010 track and field meet beginning at 10 a.m. April 8 at MTSU.
SROs will entertain and will collect contributions from envelopes placed on each table.
Lou Paschall, who helps coordinates the Special Olympics, said the dinner is a great event for an after-hours office get-together, a church social, a gathering of teachers and families and a girls or guys night out.
“It is a great opportunity to skip cooking, dishes and contribute to a great cause,” Paschall said. “This is a chance to help raise funds for activities for Special Olympics athletes in Area 16. We live in a wonderful community that has always supported Special Olympics athletes. Please continue this tradition and join us this year.”
