On Friday, March 5, Team Athletes for Special Kids, A.S.K., will hold a movie night and information session at 6 p.m. at NorthBoulevard Church of Christ in Murfreesboro.

The team coaches will kick off the evening with information about the Mach Tenn Triathlon on June 6, in Tullahoma. Participants who sign-up with Team A.S.K. will be given a 12-week training schedule, race singlet, and personal profile page on teamask.org. Athletes will also race in honor of a child partner who receives services from Special Kids, a local nonprofit that serves children with special needs.

After the information session, Team A.S.K. will show “The Spirit of the Marathon,” a documentary that highlights runners preparing for the Chicago Marathon. Popcorn will be served, and coaches will be available to answer questions and register participants with the group.

“Team A.S.K. gives the community a chance to become healthy for a great cause,” said Sharon Perry, director of Team A.S.K. “The benefits are twofold — becoming an athlete for Special Kids provides motivation to train and draws attention to the services provided at Special Kids.”
