Spc. Russell S. Hercules Jr.

SPC RUSSELL S. HERCULES, JR. age 22 of Murfreesboro died Thursday October 1, 2009 while serving his country in Afghanistan with the Pathfinder Company 4th BN 101st Airborne 159th CAB.

He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

He was a native of Rutherford County and was preceded in death by his grandfather, Donald Wonder. He was a 2006 graduate of Blackman High School.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with full Military Rites.

He is survived by his wife, Victoria Hercules; children, Christopher and Cadence; mother and step-father, Cheryl and Denver Tipton of La Vergne. father, Russell Hercules, Sr. of Winchester, sisters, Jessica Lynn Hercules of Murfreesboro, and Kelly Hercules (Eric) Futral of Woodbury; grandparents, John Richard and Stella Miller Hercules of Winchester, Carolyn Wonder of Fostoria, Ohio, and Denver Tipton of La Vergne.
