Southern Breeze blows into new showroom

After 15 years, one local business is adding another branch to its company.

Father-and-son duo, Jerry and Daniel Gammon launched Southern Breeze Construction in 1998. And beginning this week, Daniel and his wife, Brittany, are introducing Southern Breeze Home Design Center to The Avenue Murfreesboro.

Located between Petco and Michael’s, the design center features a showroom of custom cabinets, flooring, exterior products like shingles, vinyl siding and gutters, replacement windows, cabinet hardware, garage doors and countertops.

“We have the construction business, and everybody asks if we have a retail place to come pick out stuff,” Brittany Gammon explained. “This was a natural next step, and it makes it more convenient for our clients. We’re doing enough volume that it made sense to have a retail space now.”

In addition to shopping for and hand-selecting items, consumers can count on Southern Breeze Home Design Center to service a project from start to finish.

“You come in and pick out your stuff, and we install it; we handle the entire project,” Gammon continued, adding the business employs a professional cabinet designer and very experienced staff.

Best of all, the showroom features everything from floor to ceiling, interior to exterior. This prevents consumers from shopping at one store for flooring, then visiting another store for windows, and another for cabinets.

“You can literally come in and get all of your major remodeling projects taken care of – all in one spot,” Gammon said.

Save money on gas at Flying J

Pilot Flying J recently launched its first gas-discount program for motorists, and the money-saving offer is available to customers visiting the company’s 63 locations in Tennessee.

From Jan. 8-March 31, the Knoxville-based company is offering special gasoline savings for customers across its home state of Tennessee. While Pilot Flying J’s MyRewards loyalty program offers discounts on retail and restaurant purchases, this trial promotion is the first opportunity for customers to earn discounts on gas.

“Pilot Flying J is proud and very fortunate to have so many loyal customers in our home state of Tennessee,” Chief Executive Officer John Compton said.

“This is the first gas discount promotion of its kind that we’ve offered, so we’re excited to try it in Tennessee. We invite everyone to enjoy a cup of our delicious, premium coffee blends or a refreshing fountain drink and then enjoy the rewards at the gas pump. We thank you for being our customer and for supporting Tennessee businesses.”

Pilot Flying J’s has locations at 2441 S. Church St., in Murfreesboro, and 535 Waldron Rd., in LaVergne.

Each time Tennessee customers purchase a fountain drink or hot beverage from a Pilot Flying J location and swipe their MyRewards card at checkout, they’ll earn 3 cents off per gallon of gas at their next fill up. To redeem the discount, customers just swipe their MyRewards card at the gas pump when prompted, and the discount will be automatically deducted.

Discounts will add up with each drink purchase, and customers can redeem up to $1 off each gallon of gas per purchase.

Customers must have a registered Pilot Flying J “Preferred Customer” MyRewards card to participate. “Preferred Customer” cards are available for motorists purchasing gas, and the discount is available to gas-purchasing customers in Tennessee.

Cards may be picked up in Pilot and Flying J locations, and registration can be completed in the store or online at pilotflyingj.com.
