SMYRNA, Tenn. -- Police have arrested the suspect wanted in connection with the Sept. 14 burglary of a Burntwood Drive home in Smyrna.
Michael L. Ballinger, 34, has been charged with aggravated burglary and misdemeanor theft, officials with the Smyrna Police Department announced this week.
Ballinger is accused of breaking into the home and stealing undergarments, pictures and other personal effects from a young female who lives there.
His arrest comes only two days after officials with the Police Department reached out to the public for help in identifying the man who was captured on video surveillance footage breaking into the home.
Ballinger, who authorities say has a history of committing similar crimes, is being held on a $102,500 bond at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
He is scheduled to appear Thursday in Smyrna General Sessions Court for a preliminary hearing on all the charges.
