SMYRNA, Tenn. -- Rutherford County authorities are requesting the public for help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery at GameStop.

“The Smyrna Police Department is requesting assistance in getting out this information in hopes of arresting the individual (or individuals) responsible for this crime,” Chief Kevin Arnold said Friday in a press release.

The suspect allegedly entered GameStop, located in the 800 block of Industrial Drive, on Jan. 30 and proceeded to rob the store of an undisclosed amount of cash, a PlayStation 4 and several video games, according to a Police Department press release.

No one was injured in the incident, he said.

Arnold said the victim described the suspect as a black male who was wearing a red, Adidas hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a tan baseball cap. And based on video surveillance footage collected from a store security camera, it is believed the man could be in his 20s or 30s.

Although police have not yet determined whether anyone else was involved in the robbery, they do believe he jumped in the passenger seat of a white, four-door sedan, possibly a Nissan Maxima.

The suspect was last seen fleeing the area in the direction of the La Vergne city limits, Arnold said.

Anyone with any information about the suspect is asked to call Smyrna detective Dustin Fait at 615-459-6644.
