One charge of rape was filed Wednesday against a man accused of raping a 14-year-old girl in October, according to officials with the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office.
Suspect Andrew P. Hinson, 19, of Smyrna, was charged with raping the girl after he turned himself in to the Sheriff’s Office, Detective Bryant Gregory reported.
Cpl. Monica Fonseca responded to the girl’s Smyrna home where the girl accused Hinson of raping her at a friend’s home during the early morning hours. The girl repeatedly refused his advances and told him she was 14, but he persisted.
The girl reported the sexual encounter to her friend’s mother, who told her mother.
Hinson was booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center, where bond was set at $25,000. A hearing is set for Dec. 9 in Rutherford County General Sessions Court. |
